作品以當代檳榔西施堅毅而強韌的生存姿態為核心，創造一位為守護她們而生的女武神機器人。面對社會的有色眼光、道德評判與偏見，女武神成為象徵性的守護者，使她們得以被看見為勞動者，並在理想的環境中安心工作。

讓「西施」議題不再侷限於情色想像、男性凝視與金錢結構，而是轉向對其勞動處境、生命韌性與社會位置的重新理解。透過女武神的形象，作品邀請觀者以不同角度看待臺灣的檳榔西施，並思考如何建立更友善、更具尊嚴的工作環境與社會同理。

The work centers on the determination and resilience of Taiwan’s contemporary “betel nut beauties”—women who sell betel nuts from roadside kiosks. It imagines a Valkyrie robot created to protect them. In the face of social stigma, moral judgment, and prejudice, the Valkyrie serves as a symbolic guardian, envisioning a space in which these women are recognized as workers and can carry out their work with security and dignity under ideal conditions.

The work seeks to move the discussion of betel nut beauties beyond erotic fantasy, the male gaze, and economic structures, redirecting attention toward their working conditions, resilience, and social position. Through the figure of the Valkyrie, it invites viewers to see Taiwan’s betel nut beauties from a different perspective and to consider how society might create a friendlier, more dignified working environment while fostering greater empathy.
