「台灣夢」是一個持續進行的長期創作系列。靈感源於在羅東夜市長大的生命經驗，從台灣街頭的獨有招牌、燈光與生存空間出發，在看似雜亂的街景裡，閱讀每一面招牌背後家庭、歷史與土地的記憶。創作以裝置、燈光與空間的形式，走進城市廣場、燈會、港邊等不同場域，讓招牌與燈管構成的台式夜景，在公共空間中盛開，邀請大眾重新觀看自己最熟悉、卻常被忽略的夜晚風景。
Taiwan Dream is an ongoing, long-term art series. Inspired by a childhood spent in Luodong Night Market, it begins with the signboards, lights, and spaces of survival unique to Taiwan's streets—reading, within the seemingly chaotic streetscape, the memories of family, history, and land behind each glowing sign. Through installation, light, and spatial works, the series moves into city plazas, lantern festivals, harbors, and other public settings, allowing the Taiwanese nightscape of signboards and neon tubes to bloom in public space—inviting audiences to look anew at the night scenery they know best, yet so often overlook.

Beneath Every Signboard Light, There Is a Family
從小在羅東夜市長大，五花八門的招牌是每天走過的路。學設計的時候，跟多數人一樣覺得那是醜陋雜亂的，拿起相機之後，才發現那些色彩與強光有獨特的美感，真正深入創作、重新理解父母的職業與這個社會的變遷之後，才看見招牌背後真正的東西，每一個招牌的光下，都是一個家庭的存在證明。那是一個青年在城市或外地努力生存留下的痕跡。招牌之所以拚命伸展、拚命發光，是因為有人要靠它活下去。
台灣夢的觀看是先看見光，再看見光下的人。
Growing up in Luodong Night Market, the artist was surrounded by a dazzling variety of signboards that formed the everyday landscape of his childhood. When he studied design, like many others, he once regarded these signs as visually chaotic and aesthetically problematic. It was only after he began photographing them that he discovered a unique beauty within their intense colors and artificial brightness.
Through deeper engagement with his artistic practice, and through a renewed understanding of his parents’ occupations and the transformations of Taiwanese society, he began to see what truly existed behind these illuminated signs. Beneath every signboard light, there is a family—a testimony to existence. Each sign carries the trace of a young person striving to survive in a city or away from home. The reason these signs stretch outward and shine so desperately is because someone depends on them to make a living.
Taiwanese Dream is a way of seeing: first the light, then the people beneath it.

作為抵抗與重建的台灣夢
Taiwanese Dream as Resistance and Reconstruction
台灣夢是藝術家作為台灣人，用以抵抗文化潮流侵襲、重拾主體精神建構的系列創作。
在國際主流文化的影響之下，在中國與本土意識的拉扯之間「如何建立自己的文化意識、如何重建地方情感的共識，是台灣人持續面對、也還沒有答案的問題。
台灣夢把問題放回日常裡問，創作從最日常的元素出發——光、招牌、場域、時間、觀者、公共活動——以這些為線索，思索「我與台灣的關係」：
Taiwanese Dream is an ongoing artistic series in which the artist, as a Taiwanese individual, explores resistance against cultural homogenization and the reconstruction of a sense of cultural subjectivity.
Under the influence of dominant global cultures, and amid the tension between Chinese cultural narratives and local Taiwanese consciousness, Taiwan continues to confront unresolved questions: How can a distinct cultural identity be established? How can a shared emotional connection to place be rebuilt? These remain ongoing questions for Taiwanese society.
Rather than seeking answers from abstract concepts, Taiwanese Dream returns these questions to everyday life. The artist begins from ordinary elements—light, signboards, sites, time, viewers, and public activities—and uses them as clues to contemplate the relationship between “myself” and “Taiwan”:
台灣的環境光是什麼？在城市與郊區之間，我們共有的光記憶是什麼？
What constitutes Taiwan’s ambient light?

台灣獨有的綠色燈管檳榔攤還在嗎？

發光招牌隨著不同年代的產業變遷而生滅，那些改變的，其實是記憶與生活本身。
As industries evolve, illuminated signboards appear and disappear, reshaping both memory and everyday life.
從這些提問裡，建構出地方的突破性，凝聚集體的公共意識。
Through these questions, Taiwanese Dream seeks to construct a breakthrough from local experience and to cultivate a collective public consciousness.

Taiwanese Dream is a continuously evolving journey.
從自主創作到競賽與受邀參展，針對不同的區域與展出型態，與當地民眾對話。每一站都在問同一個問題：什麼是台灣的光？
Each new site generates a different way of asking questions, each region creates a new dialogue with different communities.
Beginning as an independent artistic practice and later developing through competitions and commissioned exhibitions, Taiwanese Dream engages in dialogue with local communities according to different geographical contexts and exhibition formats. Every iteration returns to the same fundamental question:

起點｜從平面出發
Origin | Starting from Image
以攝影、數位合成、繪畫重組台灣街景，在美術館展出〈盛開系列〉。此時處理的是「表象之外的生命力」——把發光體背後的慾望、執念與生存力，昇華成飛蛾與神祇的形象。
Through photography, digital compositing, and painting, the artist reconstructs Taiwanese street scenes and presents the Blossom Series in museum exhibitions.
At this stage, the work explores the “vitality beyond appearances”—transforming the desires, persistence, and survival instincts hidden behind illuminated objects into symbolic forms of moths and deities.
展開｜走出美術館，走進公共
Expansion | Into the Public
從平面轉向舞台裝置與大型燈光作品，籌組團隊，與空間設計師、平面設計師共同創作。展出場域從美術館擴散到藝術節、白晝之夜、燈節、演唱會現場。作品開始必須面對不特定的一般民眾。
The project gradually moved from two-dimensional works toward stage installations and large-scale light-based artworks. The artist formed collaborative teams and worked with spatial designers and graphic designers to develop site-specific creations.
落地｜每個地方，各自的光
Localization | Every Place Has Its Own Light
找出地方的光，用每個場域的產業、地景與作息，把「台灣的光」重新翻譯一次。讓台灣夢成為一種可以在每個地方重新長出來的方法。
The artist seeks out the unique light of each locality, reinterpreting “Taiwan’s light” through the industries, landscapes, and rhythms of everyday life within each site.
Through this process, Taiwanese Dream becomes a methodology that can regenerate itself within different places.
深化｜結合轉型正義
Deepening | Engaging Transitional Justice
從光的觀察，更進一步推到主體性的主張，以藝術介入的形式提出，達成共同歷史記憶的命題與討論。
Moving beyond the observation of light, the project further develops into a statement of cultural subjectivity. Through artistic intervention, Taiwanese Dream addresses collective historical memory and creates spaces for public reflection and dialogue.
