Tián Hong Sîn〈展風神〉

幻想騎著重機，我像個老鼠在街道裡穿梭，穿過的每個招牌每一支燈管都代表著一個家庭一個夢想。在這城市，第二故鄉臺北，住在違章建築裡面建立自己的理想，希望有天能展翅飛翔•臺語的展風神 「tian hong sin」 在華語是炫耀的意思。以此為名，除了讓自己重新學習母語的用詞以外，也是期許在外地打拼的人，都有出頭能炫耀的一天。

I've fantasized about motoring along on a heavy motorcycle, imagining a mouse shuttling along the streets. Each signboard and each fluorescent lamp I pass represents a family and a dream. In this city—Taipei, my second hometown—I live in an illegal building and build my own ideals, hoping that one day I can spread my wings and fly high.

The Taiwanese term “tián-hong-sîn,” literally “behaving like the Wind God,” means to show off. The use of this title, in addition to helping him reacquaint himself with his mother tongue, expresses the designer's hope that every person struggling in this busy world can someday soon have their day in the sun—their day to show off.
