In this work, an island symbolizing Taiwan rises from an empty expanse of sea. Familiar architectural elements from everyday life come together to form a vibrant island metropolis, only to be swallowed by a giant dragon. The city is then transformed and reborn, rising in a blaze of light before evolving into a vast cosmic metropolis.

Tides rise and fall; buildings emerge and collapse. Such gradual transformations, unfolding over time, might seem possible only when dramatically compressed into a fleeting moment in film or animation and realized through digital manipulation. Yet even within a virtual world, every element is drawn from something that exists in reality. The boundary between existence and nonexistence consequently becomes difficult to discern—and when these seemingly imagined scenes unfold in the real world, they become all the more unbelievable.
